Sports Analytics Innovation Summit

September kicked off a busy month of events for CPXi. Among these events was the Sports Analytics Innovation Summit in San Francisco. Held on September 10th to 11th, the summit boasted guests from Nike and the NBA. In addition to noteworthy attendees, the Sports Analytics Summit hosted prominent sports speakers from the NFL and the United States Olympic Committee. Attendees and speakers alike enjoyed discussions on topics such as the implementation of analytics and using data correctly in sports.

“The Sports Analytics Innovation Summit was one of the more unique conferences I have been to. It showcased some of the top sports organizations across the world, including Chelsea FC and the United States Olympic Committee. What surprised me most about this event was the different ways in which data was used in sports and how analytics can play different roles in an organization. There were data strategists/analysts/scientists learning ways in which data could impact sports medicine, athlete performance, on-field strategy and organizational insights. Data can be applied beyond just business and it was incredible to see how different these organizations utilized the big data at their finger tips.”

The Sports Analytics Innovation Summit housed over 150 senior level attendees and 30 industry leading speakers in the sports industry. Our representatives even had the chance to grab a picture with LA Lakers Assistant Coach, Mark Madsen! Our team is glad we had the opportunity to attend this event and we look forward to diving deeper into the sports industry’s big data.
